#6. Embracing 40s + Finding Friendship: Nina Badzin, 42

The pressure to pretend we’re not aging is real, and harmful. We have to acknowledge how toxic “anti-aging” is - because we all age every day.

Nina Badzin says she was “almost relieved to turn 40” a couple of years ago. Nina is a freelance writer who has written a popular friendship advice column for years, so we dove into the topic: we talk about why Nina takes the time to make acquaintances, how to give your friends the benefit of the doubt, and why you may have to repeatedly reach out. I loved hearing about the fantastic ritual she does each year on her birthday (and am going to steal it), so you don’t want to miss that. Nina lives with her husband and 4 kids in Minneapolis where she also co-leads a weekly writing group for a co-working space and gets in her daily 10,000 steps.
